Get to know K-Hi Bangit

Musically known as K-Hi Bangit (Kofi-High Bangit), His music life began while he was mainly a drummer with a traditional drumming and dancing troupe. He is very familiar with traditional instruments created in Ghana and some parts of Africa.

But for his love for traditional instruments and music; he was later invited to join a live band music group called the Amen Band. In 2010, the band won the first ever live band competition hosted by and on one of Ghana’s leading Television Network, TV3.

The music show had Highlife music legends as judges including member of legendary Osibisa music group, the late Mac Tonto; Rex Omar and Gyedu Blay-Ambulley.

He has also played with some individual bands who played for artists like Efya, Sammie B, Okomfuo Kwadie, Stonebwoy, and Kofi B, among others.

Considering studio recording music, K-Hi Bangit with his friend formed a music group called the Slaeyez. They were signed under two record labels as their management. Their first was with Afterskool Entertainment in 2012 and the other, a London-based management label known as Twelve-Eleven Media in 2014. The two released a couple of songs under 12-11 Media.

Going their separate ways to becoming a solo artiste, K-Hi Bangit released his first EP dubbed, ‘All Over’ with 7 songs including ‘Obra’, ‘don’t leave’, ‘odo nti’, ‘Suger’, etc. He has since been a recording artist with songs like ‘Hello’, ‘Marihanna’, ‘What you Figa’, ‘Show me’ featuring Bubuwyla, ‘XPSL Work’, ‘Special feeling’, ‘OK DAB’, ‘Just the two of us’, ‘ExGirl’ with Lippy and his just released song, ‘I surrender’, also with Lippy to his credit.

He doubles as a music producer at jointly-owned studio by Nguvu Collective (group of musicians/producers) named Tape House Studio (THS) and also, a video editor. He also does Graphic Designing.
